Obituary of Joseph Fischer
Joseph Lyle Fischer, age 74, of Chillicothe passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
He was born to the late Albert Henry and Lillian Ida (Belsley) Fischer on February 5, 1943 in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by son, Joseph Fischer; sister, Helen Outten; brothers, Jack Fischer and Alan Fischer; nephew, Timothy Hammond; and his dog, Mitzi.
Joe is survived by his daughter Ronni (Dan) Geber of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Michele Peterson of Indianapolis, IN and Tarin Geber of Chillicothe; sister, Fran Weber of Peoria; brother, James L. Fischer of Chillicothe; nephews, Tom Hammond of Peoria and Josh Hammond of Peoria; nieces, Lynda (Mark) Gilles of Groveland, Allecia Thibeault of Dunlap, Andrea Fischer of California, Melissa Hammond of Peoria, Ashley Gilles of Des Moines, IA, and Chelsea Gilles of Greenville; and his dog, Molly.
Joe worked as a steamfitter for AMI Local 353. He was a member of the Casting Club, Chillicothe Recreation Center (Pitts), and he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, golf carting, woodworking, and working on anything with a motor.
A funeral service for Joe will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Msgr. Bliss will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Chillicothe City Cemetery.
Memorials in honor of Joe may be made to ARK in Lacon, or PCAPS.
